Ecoinvent versions

I am getting my own ecoinvent access for AB I have one question.
AB requires Ecoinvent 3.10, correct?
The new Simapro version provides access to ecoinvent 3.11. I could get access from there. Does that difference in version matter?
I could install and use Simapro with ecoinvent 3.11 and use the access to ecoinvent also for AB, but I need to know if that works.
What exactly do I need to consider, or what should I be aware of, or does it not work at all?
If I knew about those issues beforehand, that would really help me. Thanks in advance.

Hi Nathalie,

Activity Browser is also compatible with ecoinvent 3.11. Could I ask where you heard/read the compatibility with ecoinvent 3.10 only? This may mean we have to update some documentation somewhere 😅.

However, ecoinvent 3.10 and 3.11 are only available when you start a new project. You cannot import them into existing projects.

There is always the ecoinvent 3.10 shown. This is why I asked about the compatibility. Thanks for the quick response.

As explained above, ecoinvent 3.10 and 3.11 can only be installed directly from ecoinvent online due to license restrictions.
While we appreciate your excitement in using AB, in the future please be patient after asking a question instead of posting it in three different places. Most of us working on this project do so in our free time and we'd like to spend that scarce time working on improving AB and helping users in a useful way instead of having to moderate off-topic comments.

In the future if you have questions about using AB, it is best to search the wiki and discussions page and if you can't find what you're looking for create a new discussion.

Hi, i'm trying to install ecoinvent3.11 database from a local file but it's always indicated that it's not compatible with biospher version.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Nadeem,

Ecoinvent 3.11 is only available to start a new project with, not for installing locally. This has to do with data licensing restrictions and is not something we can resolve unfortunately.
