On vacation so just a quick answer here. MCNP5 support was always a bit sporadic at best, and I somehow thought the limit on the number of particles was due to the INT32_MAX range imposed by MCNP5 itself. However, if you are adventurous you can of course play around and see if you are able to do without the restriction. The lines to look at are likely around here: https://github.com/mctools/mcpl/blob/main/mcpl_extra/src/ssw/common/sswread.c#L468 Cheers, |

Hi Thomas, Many thanks for the explanation and for pointing me to the relevant part of the code. I do not have much experience with C/C++, but I will try to play around with it and see whether it is possible to get rid of that restriction. Best regards, |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
m trying to convert an SSW file generated with MCNP5 (version 5.mpi) using ssw2mcpl, but when I open it I receive the following output:
ssw_open_file: Opened file "AIREW"
ssw_open_file WARNING: Untested MCNP5 source version : "5.mpi".
ERROR: ssw_open_file error: MCNP5 files with more than 2147483647 histories are not supported
I would like to ask whether there is any possibility to enable support for SSW files containing a larger number of histories, or if there is any recommended workaround to convert this type of file. If recompilation or a patch is required, any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Sebas
