Closes #2289 | Agent claim

Agent-Task: codex/local/01a152fa-e500-7cf1-a044-47574cae8cd0

Why the change

Make returning from Bot mode to the ordinary Harness workspace discoverable with a permanent icon below Control Rail settings.

Special things to note

  • Merge risk: two-way door, small blast radius. Revert these commits to restore the previous UI/build rule; no migration is involved. Review the shared exit callback, unchanged last-view authority and the Windows vfile path normalization, which fixes a reproduced baseline Client boot failure.
  • Evidence boundary: screenshots and E2E qualify the isolated DSH 0.2.1-rc.2 Web Client on Windows. Native Desktop is unrun; the installed native app is 0.1.7-rc.2. Full CI passed on the exact head, including all three test shards and isolated-Host smoke. The local Windows full run completed with 7,325 passed / 89 failed / 41 skipped (37 failed files); none of the Client test files failed. The isolated telemetry rerun reproduced six fixture-cleanup EPERM failures. These local results are not presented as a full pass.

Change outline

Reuse the existing rail button, Tooltip and exit glyph pattern; preserve the top logo and all mode persistence owners.

 Control Rail
Top Bot logo → existing exit callback
   Scrollable panel switches
   Bot settings
+ Back to Harness / 返回 Harness → same exit callback
     → DSH Conversation → existing last-view persistence

Resting Control Rail — 1440 × 900, English/light

Before — Settings is the last control; the top Bot logo is the only rail exit.

Before: English light Control Rail ends with settings

After — A permanent return icon sits immediately below settings.

After: English light Control Rail includes permanent return beneath settings

Resting Control Rail — 1440 × 900, Chinese/dark

Before

Before: Chinese dark Control Rail ends with settings

After

After: Chinese dark Control Rail includes permanent return beneath settings

Verification: Complete CI passed for 58e1c8c02ecc69221686c4da295d37b9e942f7b5, including lint/format/typecheck/build, all three full-suite shards, docs, mobile bundles, Android native module tests and isolated-Host smoke. CodeRabbit completed without actionable findings; its optional previous-global-page suggestion was assessed against the fixed Conversation exit contract. Independently, 7 Client-bundle tests and 19 related regressions pass, along with typecheck, format and lint. English/light and Chinese/dark real-Host E2E pass pointer/Enter/Space, manual-exit reload, restored Bot mode, original logo, moved-rail layout, short/narrow windows and an actual unsent Home draft. Tooltip and keyboard-focus scenes were inspected. A separate real Client journey also retained the existing Channel identities, one real Human message and an unsent Channel draft after exit/reload/reselection; paused and skipped guides kept the return control usable. Capture provenance and limits.

Reuse the existing mode exit and preserve the top logo. Normalize Windows vfile importer paths so the Client can boot for local UI qualification.

📝 Walkthrough

The workspace rail gains a localized Back to Harness control that uses the existing Bot mode exit operation. A browser test checks its behavior and retained state. The vfile browser-import resolver now normalizes Windows path separators before matching importer paths.

The return control is mergeable with a bounded test-coverage follow-up: its new journey would not catch a future reset of the saved Harness destination.

Explanation

The description is mostly complete. It includes the issue link, user problem, merge risk, verification results and limits, change outline, and before/after screenshots. It does not explicitly state the CI plan mode selected by the plan tests job or any applicable scripts/ci-plan.mjs rule, but this is a non-critical omission because the description provides substantial CI and local verification details.

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Standards

No findings in the implementation diff from 33334b22cb7d9e79f667b171d089c71df2dc572a. The control reuses the existing callback, icon, Tooltip and Control Rail styles, with bilingual labels and release notes. The extra exit entry was explicitly requested by the Human. The Windows build prerequisite is narrowly scoped and its reproduced pitfall is recorded in dsh-dev.

Spec

No remaining findings. The independent review confirmed placement, permanent glyph, localization, shared exit operation and unchanged top-logo behavior. Its initial request for Channel-history evidence was resolved by the separate real Client journey: unchanged Channel identities, one retained real Human message, an unsent Channel draft before/after exit and reselection, usable return in paused/skipped guide states, and no page errors. The screenshot files and preservation result were inspected by the reviewer.

Standards: 0 findings. Spec: 0 remaining findings. Native Desktop is explicitly unrun; browser evidence is not counted as native qualification. Local full-suite failures and CI are tracked separately. The PR's short existing-callback flow explains this linear change sufficiently, so no HTML explainer is needed.

Assert the restored Harness destination

The exit/reload path only checks that Bot mode is absent. It never selects or asserts a non-default Harness destination. A regression that always restores the default Harness view can therefore pass. Set a known non-default destination before entering Bot mode, then assert that destination after reload.

The automatic review completed with one optional test suggestion and no actionable code findings. The suggested restoration of a non-default Harness destination is outside the agreed behavior: both exit controls deliberately reuse the existing selectPanel(null) callback, whose destination is the native Conversation without changing the current Session. Restoring a previous global page such as Plugins would require a different navigation contract. This PR keeps that contract and checks native shell restoration, remembered manual exit, re-entry and preserved conversation data/layout instead.
