Eastern Uttar Pradesh has 2.5 million registered rural water sources and under 29% of them have been formally tested. Under Dr. Saurabh Mishra at an Institute of National Importance, built HydroGIS-ML — IoT telemetry and Sentinel-2 satellite data fused into a GIS risk score, then a stacked Random Forest + XGBoost ensemble (explained with SHAP) that ranks which untested sources to test next. The allocation algorithm finds 89% of contaminated sources with 53% fewer tests than random sampling. Funded under CST-UP Project No. CST/D-1240, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
