Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added documentation and installation guidance for the confidential token package, including encrypted balances and zero-knowledge proofs.
    • Added documentation for an in-development zkEmail utility supporting on-chain DKIM signature verification.
    • Documented additional cryptographic utilities and mathematical operations.
  • Documentation

    • Updated the release and dependency examples to version 0.8.0.
    • Expanded RWA compliance-module guidance, supported hooks, configuration, and rejection behavior.
    • Documented package architecture, circuit workflows, verification keys, and regeneration checks.

Bump the workspace and crate versions to 0.8.0 and list stellar-confidential among the published crates. Refresh the READMEs and Architecture.md for the modules added since v0.7.1, and mark stellar-zk-email as under development.

Walkthrough

The changes update architecture documentation, workspace and package version references to 0.8.0, and package guidance for confidential tokens, RWA compliance modules, contract utilities, and zk-email.

Changes

Documentation and release updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Architecture and circuit documentation
Architecture.md, packages/confidential/circuits/CLAUDE.md
Architecture.md updates package structure, NFT and fungible-token details, testing categories, and Noir circuit documentation. The circuit guidance removes an outdated statement about committed artifacts.
0.8.0 package references
Cargo.toml, bench/rwa-batch/Cargo.toml, examples/rwa/sign-claim/Cargo.toml, README.md, packages/*/README.md
Workspace, benchmark, example, and crate documentation update package references to 0.8.0. Crate lists now include stellar-confidential.
Package-specific guidance
examples/rwa/README.md, packages/contract-utils/README.md, packages/tokens/README.md, packages/confidential/README.md, packages/zk-email/README.md, packages/zk-email/src/lib.rs
Documentation expands RWA compliance-module details and contract utility capabilities. It adds confidential-crate installation details and describes the zk-email package’s purpose and development status.

Reviewed 8e25220...4645af1, including the version changes, publishing workflow, updated documentation, and audit report. I found two documentation issues to address and one minor report inconsistency:

  1. [P2] The new stellar-confidential descriptions claim zero knowledge that the current backend does not provide. README.md, line 20 describes the crate as using “zero-knowledge proofs”, and the same description is added to the other package READMEs. However, ultrahonk_soroban_verifier 0.1.0 supports only the non-ZK flavor. The confidential README explicitly explains that eliminating the known lookup leakage does not establish witness confidentiality. Please use wording such as “UltraHonk proofs” in the newly added descriptions and make the current privacy limitation clear, so users are not promised a stronger guarantee than the implementation provides.

  2. [P2] The compliance-module setup instructions omit the policy configuration required for the deployment to behave as described. examples/rwa/README.md, line 292 covers binding addresses and registering hooks, but does not tell the reader to configure limits, lockup periods, or allowlists. Following those steps with SupplyLimit or MaxBalance leaves the cap at its default of zero, causing the positive mint in step 9 to revert. Conversely, an unconfigured InitialLockupPeriod creates no locks, and TimeTransfersLimits imposes no transfer limits. Please add the relevant setter calls with example values before enabling the modules. The calls requiring the token address should also come after the token deployment in step 8.

  3. [P3] The audit conclusion contains inconsistent release versions and remediation status. On page 24 of the new audit report, the conclusion refers to the 0.8.1 line and the v0.9.0 branch, while the report is titled v0.8.0. It also describes the minting and vault/RWA composition gaps as still present, although the M-01 and M-02 updates mark the corresponding issues as resolved. Please update the conclusion to match the report's scope and final remediation status.

Validation: cargo check --workspace --locked passed, and all 139 compliance-module tests passed with cargo test -p stellar-tokens --lib rwa::compliance::modules:: --locked. Workspace versions, the root lockfile, and crate publication order are consistent. I found no runtime regression introduced by this diff.

Aligns the bench with the 0.8.0 path dependencies and drops the experimental_spec_shaking_v2 feature, which SDK 28 removed.
The trait impls used `#[contractimpl]` without `contracttrait`, so `get_country_data_entries` and `get_country_data` were never exported and the country compliance modules reverted every hook call.
Unconfigured modules default to an empty policy, which reverts every mint for SupplyLimit and MaxBalance. Module setup now runs after the token deployment, since module settings are keyed by token address, and step 5.1 passes `initial_profiles` as raw ScVal JSON, which the CLI requires for `Vec<Val>`.
Drops the parts already documented next to the code and keeps only the obligations that span several files. The package guide also loads when editing the Rust side, which the address_to_field and toolchain items need.
