ROG Ally X analog stick diagonal/max-range regression on Bazzite 44 — still present in 44.20260914 / InputPlumber 0.79.5 #724

Description

@Lucci2003

Since updating my ROG Ally X from Bazzite 43 to Bazzite 44, the built-in analog sticks behave incorrectly.

With the left stick, holding it exactly straight forward gives full movement/running speed. Moving it even slightly diagonally (forward-left or forward-right) causes the character to slow down to walking speed.

Rolling back to Bazzite 43 immediately fixes the issue.

This is still reproducible on Bazzite 44.20260914 stable with InputPlumber 0.79.5.

Affected version
Bazzite: 44.20260914 stable
Kernel: 7.2.4-ogc3.1.fc44.x86_64
InputPlumber: 0.79.5

Known working version
Bazzite 43.20260420

The same hardware and Steam configuration works correctly on Bazzite 43.

Steps to reproduce
Boot Bazzite 44.20260914 on a ROG Ally X.
Launch a game with analog movement. Saw reproduces it very clearly for me.
Push the left stick fully straight forward.
What did you expect to happen?
Full physical stick deflection should result in full analog movement in every direction, including diagonals. Moving from straight forward to forward-left or forward-right while keeping the stick fully pushed should not reduce the character from running to walking. This is how the same device behaves on Bazzite 43.

Hardware
Device: ASUS ROG Ally X RC72LA
CPU: AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme
BIOS: RC72LA.312
