We are keeping @stackoverflow/stacks-icons on v6.9 rather than updating to v7 because Stacks Editor is a Stacks Classic v2 consumer. V7 intentionally does not reproduce the complete v6 CSS selector set and removes or renames raw SVG paths that the editor imports, such as src/Icon/RichText.svg. With a dependency-only v7 bump, webpack fails before the application initializes and the E2E setup hooks time out across all browsers. V6 remains maintained specifically for Stacks Classic v2 compatibility. Moving to v7 would require a separate icon migration with replacements for the removed editor-specific assets and visual regression coverage; it cannot be handled as a dependency-only update.
