  • the monitor treats "no contract code read" as a soft failure (24 h), not an instant suspension: one lagging node can answer 0x, and a token's code cannot vanish. Different code still suspends at once.
  • llms.txt explains the application fee only while PAIRS_APPLY is on, so no agent burns TWIG for an application that cannot exist yet
  • a burn sent before its application was created never counts and is never retried (an early or stray burn whose tag happens to name it)

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes

    • Burns recorded before an application was created are no longer valued or counted toward its total.
    • Missing contract-code responses count as a failing check without immediately suspending a pair. Detected code changes still trigger immediate suspension.
  • Updates

    • Community-pair application instructions and fee details appear in /llms.txt only while applications are open.
    • Updated pair-monitoring documentation to reflect the contract-code check behavior.

- the monitor treats "no contract code read" as a soft failure (24 h),
not an instant suspension: one lagging node can answer 0x, and a token's
code cannot vanish. Different code still suspends at once.
- llms.txt explains the application fee only while PAIRS_APPLY is on, so
no agent burns TWIG for an application that cannot exist yet
- a burn sent before its application was created never counts and is never
retried (an early or stray burn whose tag happens to name it)

📝 Walkthrough

The changes gate application instructions in the /llms.txt response, exclude burns sent before application creation from expiry and payment valuation, and adjust how the pair monitor handles missing contract code.

Changes: Application handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Application eligibility and fee guidance
app/src/lib/launchpad/pairApplyServer.ts, app/src/app/llms.txt/route.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/pairApply.test.ts
Burns sent before application creation do not prevent expiry or count toward payment valuation. The /llms.txt response includes application instructions only while applications are open. Tests cover these behaviors.

Pair monitor code checks

Layer / File(s) Summary
Contract-code check behavior
app/src/lib/launchpad/pairsServer.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/pairs.test.ts, docs/pairs.md
Missing contract code produces a soft failure instead of an immediate hard failure. A changed code hash remains a hard failure. Tests and documentation reflect this distinction.

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 0e17f

Application guidance follows availability, and a persistent empty-code result suspends a pair after 24 hours rather than immediately. No actionable merge-blocking risk was identified.

Review comments at @app/src/lib/launchpad/pairApplyServer.ts:
- Line 247: Update expireStaleApplications to count only burns sent on or after
the application’s created_at timestamp when deciding whether an application can
expire, so pre-creation burns do not block expiration.

Review comments at @docs/pairs.md:
- Line 33: Update the no-code behavior description in the “Code” entry of
docs/pairs.md to state that an empty-code response suspends the pair only after
persisting for 24 hours, consistent with the soft-failure behavior. Keep the
immediate suspension rule for a code hash change distinct.

- expiry ignores a stray burn sent before the application existed, so it
cannot keep an unpaid application (and its token's place) alive
- docs: a no-code failure also suspends only after 24 hours
