Simple Notifier

This is like the “notify-send” from Dunst but for Gnome.

Installation

From source

It’s a very simple program in itself so just download gtk if you didn’t already.

Once gtk is installed just clone the repo and execute the compilation command below.

gcc $(pkg-config --cflags gtk4) -o simple_notifier simple_notifier.c $(pkg-config --libs gtk4)

The normal way

There’s an executable in the release section of the repo. It contains the executable and a .desktop file.

1. Add the executable to your path or move it to /usr/local/bin
2. Move the .desktop to ~/.local/share/applications/
3. Run update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications so that gnome can see it.

simple_notifer "title" "body"
