Same issue here on CachyOS with an RTX 3060 Ti and Quest 2 over wired USB. I'm running 21.0.0-dev12 built from source, but the sawtooth pattern matches exactly. I'm unsure if you're using wired, but I'll post my findings anyways.
The cause is a Linux-specific desync recovery loop in server_openvr/src/lib.rs that fires RequestDriverResync() whenever game_time_latency > 250ms. A recent SteamVR update made vrcompositor frame timing unstable enough to hit that threshold constantly.
Fix that worked for me: switch SteamVR to the previous beta branch (Steam -> SteamVR -> Properties -> Betas).
7. New SteamVR update released and the "previous" beta is now also broken
Confirmed we are all screwed indeed (Linux Mint 22.3 / RTX 3080 / Pico 4)
Building ALVR from source with #3353 - will report if this fix works
I'm also screwed again. Luckily I have Wivrn, but for some games only ALVR will work. Did you manage to make any progress?

I also had this issue, fixed by reverting to previous SteamVR
Thanks!

Same problem with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Mint 22.3. Reverting to previous SteamVR fixed problem.
Thanks.

Going to previous does fix, however once steamVR updates again we are basically all screwed.
Whatever is causing this defintiely needs to be looked at.
Confirmed on CachyOS.
