UI Approach

Technically, ARD is extremely lightweight, fast, and technology-agnostic. It’s built using pure HTML5, modern ECMAScript (JavaScript) classes, and Bootstrap—no heavy frameworks, no build steps, no server requirements. It’s responsive and elegant on phones, tablets, and desktops alike. Because it’s so open and minimal, anyone can contribute—even if you’re new to software. The barrier to entry is low, and the possibilities are wide open.

  1. Install Visual Code (100% Free and Lightweight)

  2. Within Visual Code install the 'Live Server' Extension by Ritwick Dey

  3. Sync down from our GitHub project ARD-UI Project

  4. From within VS Code choose 'File' -> 'Open Folder' and choose the 'website' folder

  5. Right mouse on the Index.html file and choose 'Open with Liver Server' and you're running the 'Amateur Repeater Directory' application locally.

It's that simply, no compiling, it will save the data locally, you're ready to help us build the best Amateur Radio application yet.
