This repository is the independent empirical and integration/regression surface for Aiki. It is intentionally not a Git submodule, subtree, or directory in the Aiki repository.
The experiments/ collection is preserved from the Aiki tree at extraction.
Experiment-specific Go realization code, including PDP-11/40 host-native
providers, lives here. Generic language/runtime/provider mechanisms remain in
Aiki.
Set AIKI_SOURCE to an Aiki source checkout. The default assumes sibling
checkouts:
parent/
aiki/
aiki-experiments/
Then run:
make AIKI_SOURCE=../aiki rigorousThe build creates a disposable experiment-linked ./aiki executable. Its CLI is
the ordinary Aiki CLI, but the external assembly point also links the
Experiment-005 PDP-11 provider. A temporary Go workspace composes the two
independent modules; no Git relationship between the repositories is required.
A disposable lib symlink exposes the selected Aiki checkout's standard
library to that executable.
This arrangement is deliberate: an experiment must cross Aiki's normal
language/runtime/provider boundaries from outside the core source tree. Aiki's
own make rigorous no longer executes this collection.
