No update to master in over a year

Even just a little dependency upgrade to go.mod would give us users some confidence.

I switched to sqlex recently — it's been a solid drop-in replacement with a few nice improvements. We've already validated it in our production environment at work. https://github.com/go-sqlex/sqlex

@suiriass did not "switch" to sqlex. @suiriass vibecoded that project from scratch on 2026-06-16, using a brand new GitHub user account and organization. I'd be pretty cautious about touching that...
